Dr. OKPOR, Margaret Dumebi

Profile

Dr. (Mrs.) Margaret Dumebi Okpor is a Lecturer I in the Department of Cyber Security at Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and has been actively involved in academia for over 20 years, focusing on teaching, research, and mentoring students, especially in the areas of Computer science and Cybersecurity. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in inclusiveness, teamwork, and fostering creativity and self-belief among her students. Dr. Okpor currently serves as the Chairman of the Quality Assurance Committee in the Faculty of Computing. In addition, she is a member of several Faculty-based Committees, including the Grant and Conferences Committee, The Book Review Committee and the Journal and Publication Committee. She has also Chaired several committees at the Departmental level. Her roles in these committees contribute to the advancement of academic standards and the promotion of scholarly activities within the university. She has authored numerous scholarly articles published both internationally and locally, reflecting her commitment to research excellence and contribution to the academic community. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Computer Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), where she continues to engage with the broader computing profession in Nigeria. Beyond her academic and professional life, Dr. Okpor is also actively involved in initiatives aimed at empowering female students, a passion shaped by her own experiences overcoming challenges during her educational journey. She is married, a mother of children, and has a love for singing, balancing her professional responsibilities with her personal interests and family life.
